2006 recruiting class ranked No. 49 by Soccer Buzz Magazine
June 1, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's program's recruiting efforts were recognized by Soccer Buzz Magazine as they ranked the Frogs' recruiting class 49th in the nation. TCU has the seventh best recruiting class in the Central Region and the second-highest recruiting class in the state of Texas, behind only Texas A&M and ahead of Texas, Rice, Texas Tech and Baylor. The Frogs were also ranked with the second-best recruiting class in the Mountain West with San Diego State earning the top honors. "With such a short time last spring to recruit this group, it's great to see people recognize the quality of the players we have joining us here next year to take TCU to the upper echelon of college soccer," said Head Coach Dan Abdalla. "It's not only a testament to TCU being such a great school, but also a wonderful environment for players to excel not only on the field, but in the classroom as well." In all, TCU signed eight recruits to National Letters of Intent. Six of the eight hail from Texas and two are regional Olympic Development Program team members. Among the seven signees are Metroplex natives Michelle Nguyen, a midfielder from Richardson, Chelsea White, a midfielder/forward from Mansfield, and Kayde Bowman, a goalkeeper from Arlington. Also hailing from Texas are fellow signees Kelsey Vross, a goalkeeper from Spring, and Anna Paulson, a midfielder/forward from Midland. Joining them are a pair of high schoolers from California. Elizabeth Batten is a midfielder from Danville, and Elizabeth Karoly is a forward from Escondido. Natalie Holovach, a Highland Village, Texas native, transferred to TCU in the spring after a semester at LSU. "The kids still have to show up and take care of business on the field, but it's nice for people to recognize that TCU soccer is quickly on the rise!"
