FORT WORTH, Texas - After being ranked as the No. 1 recruiting class in the Mountain West Conference exactly one week ago by Soccer Buzz Magazine, the publication has ranked TCU's incoming recruiting class as the No. 40 class in the country.
TCU's 10-member recruiting class is ranked third in the state behind only Texas and Texas A&M and is ranked higher than Rice (No. 57), SMU (No. 64), North Texas (No. 77), Texas Tech (No. 78) and Baylor (No. 79).
The class is also ranked No. 8 out of 69 teams in the Central Region. The Horned Frogs' regional ranking is higher than notable programs such as Oklahoma (No. 9), Missouri (No. 13), LSU (No. 17), Arkansas (No. 21) and Oklahoma State (No. 22).
TCU's No. 40 national ranking is the second highest in program history, behind only the Horned Frogs' 2005 recruiting class which was ranked No. 39.
The class is also the highest rated under third-year head coach Dan Abdalla. The 2006 recruiting class - the first under Abdalla - was rated as the 49th-best class in the nation.
TCU's 10-member class spans five states. Included in the class are Chelsea Cody (Putnam City HS), Kaylie Garcia (Putnam City North HS) and Kelsey Walters (Putnam City North HS) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jenna Hayes of Longmont, Colo.
