Women's soccer drops 2-1 decision at Texas
Feb. 27, 2006 AUSTIN, Texas - In their first action of the spring, the TCU women's soccer team dropped a close match, 2-1, to the University of Texas Sunday afternoon in Austin. The Frogs held a 1-0 advantage at halftime on a Casey Glass goal that came in the first three minutes of the contest. The Frogs have six remaining spring matches. After heading into the half with the lead, the Frogs surrendered two second half goals. The game-winning goal for the Longhorns came in the last ten minutes on an indirect free kick that drifted just out of the reach of Frogs' goalkeeper, Katy Buchanan. The Horned Frogs were playing with just 10 varsity athletes. Senior Moran Lavi remains with the team this spring and was the 11th player on the field for the Frogs. "We were pleased with the defensive effort the girls put forth on Sunday," remarked head coach Dan Abdalla. "We have been working a lot on the defensive aspect of the game in the early spring practices and it was nice to see it translate onto the field." The Frogs will be back in action on March 4 at home. They will face Texas Woman's at 11 a.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
