TULSA, Okla. - Lauren Pope recorded a hat trick, while Lizzy Karoly added two goals and Michelle Nguyen added another as the TCU soccer team upended Oral Roberts 6-2 on Sunday to win the TU Women's Soccer/Grover Classic held at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

TCU tallied four of its six goals in the first frame to earn its second straight victory and move to 2-2-0 on the season, while Oral Roberts fell to 1-2-1 overall. TCU's six goals were the most by the Horned Frogs since also posting six against Centenary in 2002.

With the win, TCU claimed the tournament title after winning both games. TCU opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over Tulsa on Friday. Four Horned Frogs made the all-tournament team, as voted on by the coaches in the tournament. Making the team were Michelle Nguyen, Lizzie Batten, Lauren Pope and Lizzy Karoly.

Just like in Friday's match against Tulsa, TCU struck first, as Nguyen scored on a corner kick from the right side at the 14:59 mark. Nguyen was able to curl her shot around the nearside post and over the finger tips of ORU goalkeeper Shelbi Morrison. Nguyen's goal was her second in as many games.

Nguyen's goal began a flurry of goals for TCU, as the Horned Frogs scored three times in a period of just six minutes and 29 seconds.

The Horned Frogs scored again off the foot of Nguyen at the 18:31 mark, but this time it was Nguyen assisting Karoly, who headed the ball into the net. The goal for Karoly was the first of her career, while Nguyen picked up her second assist of the season.

At the 21:28 mark, Pope scored her first of three goals. While inside the box, Pope momentarily lost the ball from an ORU defender before recovering it and drilling a shot into the right side of the goal. Pope's goal pushed TCU's lead to 3-0.

Oral Roberts was able to get on the board at the 23:27 mark to cut TCU's lead to 3-1. The Golden Eagles' Emily Gagnon took a shot that cleared TCU goalkeeper Katy Buchanan for ORU's first goal of the match.

TCU pushed its lead back to three at the 28:12 mark, as Pope rifled a shot from 40 yards out that settled into the back of the net for her second goal of the game.

The first half came to a close with TCU holding a 4-1 lead.

It did not take long for TCU to score again in the second half, as Karoly scored her second goal of the game at the 54:20 mark. Karoly beat her defender to the ball by slide kicking a shot past Morrison to give the Frogs a 5-1 lead.

With 28:34 to play in the game, Breanne Kaldheim was whistled for a foul in the box, which setup a penalty kick by ORU. The Golden Eagles' Gentry Detter converted the PK to make the score 5-2.

Pope posted her third goal of the season and the fourth of her career for TCU at the 87:51 mark. Pope's goal came after an ORU defender headed a ball out of the goal and towards Pope, who split the posts for the hat trick.

Katy Buchanan played all 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves to earn her second victory in a row and move to 2-1 on the year. Buchanan's win was the 16th of her career.

TCU outshot ORU 16-11 for the game.

TCU returns to the field on Friday when No. 3 Notre Dame visits Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium for a 7 p.m. match.
