FORT WORTH, Texas - Jordan Calhoun netted two goals as the Horned Frogs downed Xavier, 3-0, Friday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

The freshman put TCU on the board in the 17th minute of the match, blasting a shot past the outstretched arms of Musketeer goalkeeper Kelly Farrell off an assist by Jackie Torda.

The Horned Frogs looked to have increased the lead in the 23rd minute as redshirt freshman Katie Taylor crushed a ball from about 35 yards out, but hit the crossbar.

Calhoun would up the TCU lead right before the half, notching her fourth goal of the season off a header from Alex Mechalske. The Norman, Okla., native took the pass from Mechalske and hit a turning half-volley into the back of the net as time expired. By doing so she became the first freshman in program history to net back-to-back two goal outings in the first two games of a career.

Torda put the finishing touches on the night, netting her first goal of the season in the 55th minute. On the play, Torda headed the ball past Farrell off a free kick that was blasted by Taylor.

Finally, Chelsey Wilgenburg looked to score her first career goal in a Horned Frog uniform, firing a shot with one second left on the clock, but watched as her shot sailed wide.

On defense, Kelsey Walters was once again solid as she saved three balls and recorded her second-straight shutout.

With the victory, TCU moved to 2-0-0 on the year for the first time since 1999. The Horned Frogs also posted back-to-back shutouts in the first two matches of the season for the first time since 1999 and for the first time under head coach Dan Abdalla.

TCU will next be in action this Sunday against Ole Miss. Start time is set for 1 p.m. Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
