TCU women's golf announces two signings
Nov. 9, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf program has announced the signing of Prisela Campbell (Fort Worth, Texas) and Allyson Ferguson (Houston, Texas) to National Letters-of-Intent. A senior at Fossil Ridge High School, Campbell has only been playing competitive golf for two years and is ranked 182nd nationally. She won the 2006 Fort Worth City Junior Championship after shooting a 69-70-73--212. Campbell captured the North Texas Open Junior by 18 strokes with a 54-hole score of 68-72-73--213, becoming the only girl or boy to break 70. Campbell, who won several other tournaments this fall, participated in August's British Junior Girls Championship. She's originally from Anchorage, Alaska. Ferguson, a senior at Clear Lake High School, is ranked 53rd nationally and has qualified two straight years for the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur Championship. Ferguson finished sixth at the 2006 Texas State 5-A High School Championship with a 75-72--147. She was also sixth at the AJGA Randy Smith Classic in Lubbock after carding a 73-72-79--224. She won the Starburst Junior Golf Classic with a 75-74-79--228. "It's exciting to sign two great junior players," TCU women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. ""We expect Allyson and Prisela to make an immediate impact upon their arrival. "To get such a highly-ranked player in Allyson shows the growth of our program and the respect we've earned nationally. Prisela is from Fort Worth and we look for her to continue the great success in recent years we've had with local players such as Angela Stanford and Catherine Matranga."
