Matranga keys second round for TCU women
Oct. 31, 2006 HENDERSON, Nev. -- TCU's Catherine Matranga shot an even-par 72, while the Horned Frog women's golf team moved up one spot to 13th place after Tuesday's second round of the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown at the Anthem Country Club. The Frogs were 12-over-par Tuesday and are now at 603 (+27) overall. TCU is separated by just five strokes from host UNLV who sits in eighth place. Oklahoma State is atop the leaderboard with a 4-under 572, nine strokes ahead of second-place Arizona State. Matranga, who began the day in a tie for 45th, is now in a nine-way deadlock for 23rd individually with a 36-hole score of 4-over 148. Fellow TCU senior Camille Blackerby shot a 73 and is 6-over (150), tied for 38th, heading into Wednesday's final round which begins with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. (CST).
