Derrey's 69 keys second round for Frogs

LAS VEGAS -- Valentine Derrey's 69 helped the TCU women's golf team move into eighth place after Tuesday's second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Derrey is tied for sixth individually with a 1-under-par 143 after 36 holes. The sophomore from Paris, France, is seven strokes behind Denver's Katie Kempter who leads the pack at 8-under 136. No. 22 TCU, one of nine top-25 teams in the field, moved up two spots to eighth place. The Frogs carded a 299 Tuesday and are 20-over-par after two rounds. TCU is just one stroke behind seventh-place Texas A&M. No. 17 Denver is in first and leads No. 9 Arizona by five strokes. TCU is 26 shots off the pace. Allyson Ferguson, one of three freshmen in TCU's five-player lineup, posted a 74 Tuesday. Carrie Morris and Prisela Campbell both carded 77s.
