FORT WORTH, Texas -- The 25th-ranked TCU women's golf team begins play Friday at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.

The Horned Frogs will be in action for the first time since tying for 10th at the Windy City Collegiate Classic (Oct. 5-6) in Glenview, Ill. TCU has posted a pair of top-10 finishes in its three fall tournaments.

TCU is making its debut at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships, held at the par 72, 6,317-yard Fox Den Country Club. The event is in its 13th year.

Joining TCU and host Tennessee in the 18-team field are Arkansas, Chattanooga, Florida, Furman, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Mississippi, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tulane, Texas-San Antonio and Wake Forest.

The Horned Frogs' lineup will include Brooke Beeler, Prisela Campbell, Valentine Derrey, Melissa Loh and Rachel Raastad.

Raastad and Derrey top TCU with stroke averages of 74.3 and 74.8, respectively. Beeler is at 75.4. They are the lone Horned Frogs to play in all three tournaments this season. Campbell will be making her 2009-10 debut.

After opening the fall with a second-place finish at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships, Raastad carded a 6-under-par 213 to place fourth at the Dick McGuire Invitational last month in Albuquerque.

TCU's opening-round tee times begin Friday at 9:39 a.m. CDT.
