TCU in sixth place after opening round of Lady Paladin Invitational
Oct. 6, 2006 GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The No. 31 TCU women's golf team shot a 22-over-par 310 to sit in sixth place out of 17 teams after Friday's opening round of the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. TCU is just eight strokes behind leader Northwestern (302, +14). Windy conditions on the Furman University Golf Course saw just three golfers break par. Catherine Matranga, the reigning Mountain West Conference Golfer of the Month, was the top Horned Frog with a 3-over 75. The Fort Worth native (Paschal High School) is tied for eighth, five strokes behind Coastal Carolina's Araceli Felgueroso and Northwestern's Alice Kim (70, -2) Stacey Bieber carded a 4-over-par 76 for TCU and is tied for 12th individually.
