TCU Women In 11th Place At Dick McGuire
Sept. 26, 2003 ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The TCU Horned Frogs bettered their team score by five strokes, shooting a 305 in round two, but slipped into 11th place at the 17-team Dick McGuire Invitational with 18 holes remaining. The strong field includes seven schools rated in Golfweek's preseason poll: No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 11 New Mexico, No. 15 Pepperdine, No. 18 Tulsa, No. 20 UNLV, No. 25 TCU and No. 29 Arizona State. TCU has a two-round score of 615, which is just four strokes out of the fifth-place spot currently occupied by Texas Tech (611). Host school New Mexico leads the tournament with an eight-under 576. Brooke Tull topped the Horned Frogs on Friday, firing a two-under-par 71. Tull, a senior, moved up more than 20 spots to claim a share of 14th place at 149 with her impressive round. The native of Georgetown, Texas, recorded four birdies and just two bogeys on the afternoon. Tull has placed among the top 20 in all but one event since the start of the 2002-03 season. True freshman Camille Blackerby of Breckenridge, Texas, posted a 77 in the second round, the team's second-best card of the day. With a six-over score (152), Blackerby is now tied for 30th overall in her first career tournament. Traci Robison, a junior from Arlington, has a share of 43rd after a 79 today. Her two-round total of 155 is plus-nine. Sophomore Stephanie Godare notched an 82 on Friday and is tied for 74th individually with a 36-hole sum of 163. True freshman Elin Emanuelsson bounced back from an 87 in the first round to post a 78 in the second round. She now is tied for 84th overall at 165. The 25th Annual Dick McGuire Invitational is being played at the UNM Championship Course (par-73, 6,069 yards) in Albuquerque, N.M.
