TCU women's golf to make its 11th straight postseason appearance

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf team begins play Thursday at the NCAA Central Regional in Bryan, Texas.

The Horned Frogs will be making their 11th consecutive postseason appearance under coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin.

The 54-hole tournament, held at the Traditions Golf Club, runs through Saturday. Play begins at 7:30 a.m. each day with live scoring available at www.golfstat.com.

The 21-team field features nine of the top-25 teams in the latest Golfweek ratings, including No. 1 Duke, No. 6 USC and No. 7 Pepperdine. TCU is ranked 35th and seeded 11th in the Central Regional. In addition to host Texas A&M, other competing teams are Baylor, Birmingham-Southern, Florida, Jackson State, Jacksonville State, Kent State, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, SMU, St. Francis (Pa.), Texas and Tulsa.

The top eight teams and two individuals will advance to the NCAA Championship May 23-26 in Columbus, Ohio.

The Frogs will be playing at the Traditions Golf Club for the second time this spring. At the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial (March 10-12), TCU placed third out of 18 teams and improved its score (318-309-308) each round. The Frogs' final-round 308 was the low score on the day.

TCU's Elin Emanuelsson was second individually with a 54-hole 225 (+9). The junior from Nacka, Sweden, is third on the Frogs with a 76.4 season stroke average.

Camille Blackerby has a team-best 75.1 mark with Catherine Matranga at 75.5.

TCU has finished in the top five in four straight tournaments and six of its last eight, including a 21-stroke victory at Kansas State's Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational (Oct. 10-11).
