Women's Golf Slides to Seventh
TCU shoots 310 on second day of Rainbow Tournament
WAIMANALO, Hawai'i (March 29, 2001) -- The TCU women's golf team resides in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Dr. Thompson Rainbow Tournament held in Waimanalo, Hawai'i. The Frogs shot a 310 on day two of the event and enter the final round just one stroke out of sixth position and eight shots out of third. Frog freshman Brooke Tull ranks as the team's top performer after 36 holes. With back-to-back scores of 75, she is in a tie for eighth place individually with a 150. Joining Tull in the tournament's Top 20 is junior Jennifer Patterson, whose score of 173 ranks tied for 19th. The squad is rounded out by freshman Courtney Wood (T22nd-154), sophomore Shannon Barr (T29th-155) and senior Brenda Anderson (T44th-159). Arizona (594), the country's second-rated team, leads the 18-team field by seven strokes. Five of the teams, including TCU, are listed in the nation's Top 20 according to both the Golfweek/Sagarin and Mastercard rating services. Final round of play at the Olomana Golf Links begins Thursday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Hawai'i time.
