Spring Fever hitting the TCU campus
March 27, 2008
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Elisa Gomez of the TCU women's golf program is providing a journal to GoFrogs.com. Included below is her latest entry as TCU begins play Friday at the Bryan Park National Collegiate in Brown Summit, N.C. Hello All! Welcome to this week's edition of The Gallery Wants to Know... The team left for North Carolina Wednesday to compete in the Bryan Park National Collegiate in Brown Summit. Here's a little history of the tournament... The inaugural tournament was played in 1998 and was co-hosted by Wake Forest and UNC Greensboro. The host course is the Champions Course at Bryan Park which opened in 1990. The Champions Course was designed by Rees Jones, and parts of the course border Lake Townsend. Now if you've never had the opportunity to play golf in North Carolina, it is certainly a treat. So I think the Lady Frogs will play some of their best golf this season. The school year is beginning to wrap up. Here in the louder section of the library, there are a lot of group meetings and many people studying. I think people are starting to get the Spring Fever, which is good because then we can all study outside!! Yay! I do have to say one thing about the library (since it is kind of a second/third home), they put these benches near the Check Out section. I really like them and wonder if people take naps. Ha. Anyway, moving on to TCU athletics... All those representing the Purple and White are doing an awesome job. First, the men's golf team added another piece of hardware to its trophy case with a win in Arizona. The women's basketball team won on the road and advanced in the WNIT. Baseball just won a doubleheader and their third straight game. Women's tennis has also won its past three matches. The track and field team posted nine regional qualifying marks in front of over 2,000 spectators at the Horned Frog Invitational. Overall, I'd say things are looking awesome for TCU. Well, I'm going to wrap this up. Keep track of the team on golfstat.com. And keep cheering on the Froggies!! Popcorn's Kernels: TCU: Kudos to the Equestrian Team... The Western team received the No. 1 seed after having a perfect season... They will be competing in Waco, April 17-19. Life: Keep some Chapstick handy with this wind... It's pretty brutal. Cheers,
