Matranga's 72 keys second round for TCU
Feb. 25, 2006 SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Led by Catherine Matranga's 72, the TCU women's golf team shot a second round 13-over-par 301 to remain in eighth place out of 16 teams at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Camille Blackerby carded a 73 Saturday for the Horned Frogs. Matranga and Blackerby are both 4-over-par after two rounds with a 148 total, tying for eighth individually. Matranga's 72 tied for the third-lowest score on the day. TCU's two-round total of 608 is 17 strokes behind leader and No. 22 Florida (591). Third-ranked Purdue and No. 9 Arkansas are tied for second, just one shot behind the Gators. Amanda McCurdy of Arkansas is the individual leader with a 4-under-par 140. She's one shot ahead of North Carolina's Ann Laney. TCU sophomore Carrie Morris had a second-round 80 and is tied for 43rd place. Elin Emanuelsson and Elisa Gomez shot 79 and 77, respectively.
