Feb. 24, 2007
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico -- Catherine Matranga carded a 1-under-par 71 while Camille Blackerby's even-par 72 highlighted second-round play Saturday for the TCU women's golf team at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The Horned Frogs' 8-over 296 has them in fourth place overall, nine strokes behind Auburn.
TCU freshman Valentine Derrey, the first-round individual leader after tying a school record with a 67, shot a 74 and is third with a 36-hole score of 3-under 141. The Paris, France, native is just one stroke off the pace set by Oklahoma State's Pernilla Lindberg and Auburn's Mariana Macias.
Matranga is tied for fifth, four strokes off the lead with her even-par 144.
Going back to the Central District Invitational earlier this week, Blackerby has shot par in three of her last four rounds. She's tied for 10th individually.
