FORT WORTH, Texas - The Horned Frogs women's golf team heads south for Feb. 21-23's Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Dorado, Puerto Rico. It will be the Frogs' first tournament in over three months. Sophomore Catherine Matranga leads TCU back to action on the heels of her best-ever finish in October's Furman Lady Paladin Invitational, where she tied for fourth while the team took sole possession of fourth.

Also competing for the Frogs will be senior D'Rae Ward (77.59 avg, 68 low), sophomores Stacey Bieber (80.34 avg., 73 low) and Camille Blackerby (77.12 avg., 70 low), and freshman Elisa Gomez (79.0 avg., 73 low, two tournaments).

Of the tough 13-team field, TCU is one of 11 teams to be ranked in the top 50 to compete in the 2005 Lady Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue. No. 3 Auburn, Cal-Berkeley, No. 16 Florida, No. 5 Georgia, No. 33 Kent State, Penn State, No. 31 Purdue, No. 26 Oklahoma, No. 17 Texas, No. 22 Tulsa, No. 21 USC, and No. 18 Wake Forest await the No. 49 Horned Frogs at the Dorado Del Mar Country Club.

The 72 par, 6,000 yard course will be played in a 54 hole format (18-18-18=54). Last year's individual title went to USC's then-freshman Veronica Felibert of Caracas, Venezuela (213) and the team trophy went to Duke (862). Play begins at 7 a.m. Central each day, Feb., 21-23.
