Brooke Beeler carded a 73 and is tied for 12th individually to lead TCU in Monday's opening round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.
The No. 33 Horned Frogs shot a 305 and are in 11th place. Eighth-ranked USC's even-par 284 has it atop the leader board by eight strokes over No. 6 Duke at 292. Eleven of the 15 teams in the field are ranked in the top 20.
A sophomore from Butler, Ill., Beeler birdied her final three holes and totaled a team-best four birdies on the day. Beeler is six shots off the pace of Duke's Lindy Duncan and USC's Jennifer Song, who recorded 67s.
Valentine Derrey and Allyson Ferguson posted 77s for TCU and are tied for 39th. Ferguson had three birdies. Melissa Loh shot a 78.
