Matranga and Blackerby key final-round play for TCU

HENDERSON, Nev. -- Catherine Matranga and Camille Blackerby were both under par in Wednesday's final round as the TCU women's golf team completed play at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown.
The Horned Frogs' 6-over 294 was their lowest round of the tournament and moved them into a tie for 11th place with UC Irvine. Oklahoma State won the team title with a 9-under-par 855, 10 strokes ahead of Arizona State.
Matranga, the September Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month and the 24th-ranked player nationally, improved her score each day of the tournament (76-72-70--218). Fellow TCU senior Camille Blackerby did likewise (77-73-71--221). Matranga and Blackerby placed in ties for 17th and 23rd, respectively.
Ashley Knoll of Texas A&M captured medalist honors with a 7-under-par 209.
Frog freshman Megan O'Donnell carded a final round 75 (+3) to finish with a 54-hole score of 230 (+14).
TCU will conclude its fall season Nov. 22-23 at the Aloha Purdue Collegiate in Poipu Kauki, Hawaii.
