Maymon's 71 Leads TCU in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas -- TCU freshman Maria Maymon carded a career best 1-under-par 71, while the Horned Frogs finished 13th as play concluded Tuesday at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin. Maymon, the first native of Mexico to play at TCU, had four birdies in an 11-hole stretch. She dropped her score nine strokes from Monday's second round. Katy Cardno was TCU's top individual, finishing 49th with a 227. The Horned Frogs' lone senior had three birdies en route to a final-round 75. She shot a career-best 72 on Monday. April McCoy totaled a team-best five birdies in posting a 74 for TCU. The Horned Frogs' 299 was the ninth-best team score Tuesday. No. 4 Florida won a tiebreaker over No. 10 Alabama for the team title. Both teams finished with a 1-under 863. The Gators' Camilla Hedberg captured medalist honors in a playoff against the Crimson Tide's Jennifer Kirby. The Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational closed TCU's fall season. The Horned Frogs will return to action when they open the spring campaign Feb. 10 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Team Scores TCU Scores
