Nuutinen Leads TCU at Oklahoma Tourney

NORMAN, Okla. -- TCU's Sanna Nuutinen carded a 3-under-par 69 and is just one stroke off the lead after Monday's opening round of the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic. Nuutinen had five birdies in a nine-hole stretch as she recorded the third sub-70 round of her career. She's returned to action for TCU after missing the Horned Frogs' previous tournament while representing her native Finland at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship in Antalya, Turkey. Denver's Tonje Daffinrud, Texas Tech's Kimberly Kaufman and Notre Dame's Lindsey Weaver are tied for the individual lead with 68s. TCU is in 12th place with a 305. No. 18 and host Oklahoma leads with a 4-under 284, five strokes ahead of No. 20 Notre Dame, No. 22 Texas Tech and No. 32 Texas State. April McCoy birdied her final hole en route to a 78 for TCU.
