Stillwater, Oklahoma - The TCU women fired a 36-hole score of 614, including a second-round 298 in the first day of play in the Big 12 Invitational in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Tournament host Oklahoma State leads the 54-hole tournament with a total of 592, 22 shots ahead of the fifth-place Frogs.

The Big 12 Invitational consists of all 12 of the Big 12 schools, plus Ohio State, Northwestern, Tulsa and TCU. The TCU women are only one shot behind Tulsa (613) and 10 shots behind Northwestern. TCU's second-round 298 was the fourth-best round of the day.

After two rounds, Lori Sutherland and Jennifer Patterson are tied for 12th with 36-hole scores of 151. Sutherland opened the day with a first-round score of 78, then ended the afternoon with a one-over par total of 73. Patterson shot a 76 in the first round, then closed with a 75. Shannon Barr is tied for 23rd after shooting a 36-hole total of 155 (78-77). Brooke Tull came up big in the second round with a one-over par 73. She opened the tournament with a first-round score of 84. Freshman D'Rae Ward is tied for 77th with a 36-hole score of 177 (89-88).

The Invitational will end Tuesday (Oct. 2) with the final 18 holes.
