Women's Golf remains in 8th place, Tull climbs into 4th

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Junior Brooke Tull shot a two-under par 71 Friday to move into a tie for fourth place after the second round of the Dick McGuire Invitational. As a team, the Frogs shot a 300 and remain in eighth place. Host New Mexico, which shot a 292 in the second round, will take an eight-shot lead over Washington into Saturday's final round. Although the Frogs are 17 shots behind New Mexico, they are only six shots behind New Mexico State's fourth place total of 600, and two shots behind the Texas Longhorns total of 602.
Tull started the day in a five-way tie for seventh after opening the tournament with an even-par 73 in the first round. She is now four shots behind individual leader Lisa Meldrum (Oklahoma), who has posted back-to-back rounds of 70 for a two-day total of 140 (-6).
Senior Shannon Barr, who shot an even-par 73 Friday, moved into a tie for 11th with a 36-hole score of 148. Sophomore D'Rae Ward shot a 79 Friday and is now tied for 31st with a 36-hole score of 155 (+9).
Freshman Stephanie Godare shot a 77 Friday to climb into 67th place with a 36-hole score of 161 (+15), and Traci Robison is now tied for 71st with a 36-hole total of 162, after she fired an 80 in the second round.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course. Third round action begins at 8 a.m. (mountain time) on Saturday morning.
