Derrey finishes 2-under-par at NCAA Preview

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Valentine Derrey shot a final round even-par 73 to finish at 2-under as the TCU women's golf team completed play Wednesday at the Margaret Branch NCAA Preview in Albuquerque, N.M. Playing in their first fall tournament, the 21st-ranked Horned Frogs placed 15th with a 54-hole score of 33-over-par 909. TCU had its best round of the tournament on Wednesday, carding an 8-over 300. It was the 12th-best score on the day. The Frogs dropped their score each round. With a 16-under 860, Duke won the team title by one stroke over USC. A sophomore from Paris, France, Derrey had four birdies Wednesday as she tied for 12th individually at 2-under-par 217. USC's Dewi Claire Schreefel took medalist honors with a 15-under 204. Megan O'Donnell, en route to a final-round 76, recorded three birdies Wednesday for TCU. Freshman Allyson Ferguson, in her first collegiate tournament, also carded a 76. Senior Carrie Morris had a 75, while Christina Schams posted a 78. The Frogs return to action Oct. 19-21 at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. Team Scores TCU Scores
