Women's Golf Sits in Seventh After Round One of Jeannine McHaney

LUBBOCK, Texas - After the first round of play in Lubbock today, senior D'Rae Ward and sophomore Stacey Bieber lead the Frogs with a tie for 19th. As a team, the Frogs are in seventh place of 18 teams. The individual leaderboard saw Arkansas' Stacy Lewis end the first day of competition with a tournament low 68, four-under. Lewis would finish the first three holes even at par before turning in three birdies in the last six holes before the turn. Shooting a 69, three-under, is Notre Dames' Katie Brophy sitting in second-place on the leader board. SMU sits atop the team leaderboard (291) followed by Big 12 rival No.1 Missouri with a 295. No.30 Notre Dame (296-third), No.15 Oklahoma (295-fourth) and No.19 Arkansas (301) in fifth complete the top five. The team will continue competition at the Jeannine McHaney Invitational (Par 72, 6,416 yards) tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:15. TEAMS: 1. Southern Methodist (291); 2. Missouri (295); 3.
