TCU Clinches Co-Championship of Lady Boilermaker

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - TCU's strong finish in the second and final day of Purdue's Lady Boilermaker granted the Horned Frogs their first share of a championship in two years. Sophomore Camille Blackerby captured her highest career finish at second place. The Horned Frogs maintained a steady assault (299-299-300) to finish 34-over par and tied with Michigan for first place. TCU had not won a tournament since the Waterlefe/USF Invitational in 2003. Blackerby fired a one-under 71 today to tie with Nicole Melton of Texas A&M at four-over par in second place, three strokes behind medalist Amanda Costner of Kansas. Senior D'Rae Ward finished in a two-way tie for fifth with a six-over par total score. Sophomore Catherine Matranga finished nine-over par in a tie for eighth place at nine-over par to help the Frogs seal a part of first place. Sophomore Stacey Bieber had her toughest round in the third, carding an 81 (78-75-81=234, +18). Sophomore Elin Emanuelsson tied for 60th at 26-over par and freshman Elisa Gomez had her best round by far with a 79 in the third to tie for 74th (88-95-79=262, +46). TEAM RESULTS (Top Five): T1.
