Women's Golf Ties For Seventh at A&M Invitational

CYPRESS, Texas - The TCU women's golf team placed tied for seventh among 19 teams at the rain-shortened Texas A&M "Mo"morial Invitational on Tuesday. TCU shot a 36-hole score of 628 (+52) to finish 18 strokes out of the lead. The Horned Frogs were unable to make a move in the second round, as they also shared seventh place after scoring a 28-over-par 316 in the first round. TCU junior Brooke Tull fired a two-round total of 148 (+4) to tie for third individually. She scored two-over-par 74s in both rounds, and finished just three strokes out of medalist honors. It was Tull's fifth top-10 finish in the six events this season. Freshman Traci Robison was TCU's second-highest finisher, placing in a tie for 40th with a 160 (+16). Rounding out the Horned Frog scorers were: sophomore D'Rae Ward (T-49th, 161), freshman Stephanie Godare (T-59th, 162) and senior Shannon Barr (T-70th, 164). Baylor won the team title with an overall score of 610 (+34). The Bears' Melanie Hagewood took home medalist honors with a one-over-par 145. The field was scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday with a final 18 holes on Tuesday, But Monday's rounds were cancelled due to inclement weather conditions at Blackhorse Golf Club. Instead, the tournament was reduced to 36 holes played entirely on Tuesday.
