Bonetti Records Another Career-Best Finish
Feb. 19, 2013
PARRISH, Fla. -- TCU sophomore Alexandra Bonetti tied for ninth for her second straight career-best finish, while the Horned Frogs were seventh as play concluded Tuesday at the Central District Invitational. Bonetti birdied two of her opening seven holes en route to a final-round 73 and the Horned Frogs' low score on the day. The sophomore from Paris, France, finished the tournament with a 6-over-par 222, seven strokes behind medalist Natalie Wille of Augusta State. Bonetti's previous career-best result was a tie for 12th at last week's Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Sanna Nuutinen and Kortnie Maxoutopoulis both recorded 76s. Nuutinen, who birdied her first two holes on the back nine, tied for 20th overall. It was her third top-20 finish in five tournaments this season and the 11th of her career. Maxoutopoulis shot par on 14 holes and tied for 36th. The 53rd-ranked Horned Frogs, who won last year's Central District Invitational, posted a final-round 306 for a 912 total and their second straight top-10 finish. No. 31 SMU shot an 888 to claim the team title by two strokes over No. 13 Vanderbilt. TCU returns to action March 8 at the Darius Rucker Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C. Team Scores TCU Scores
