Frogs begin quest for first National Championship
April 17, 2008 WACO, Texas- In just its second year of competition, the TCU equestrian team is getting set to begin the 2008 Varsity Equestrian National Championship as the No. 1 seed in the Western bracket. TCU, who went 12-0 in Western during the regular season, has earned a first-round bye and will face the host school Baylor for the third time this season. Baylor defeated New Mexico State 6-2 in the first round to advance. Kindel Huffman, who has earned the No. 1 seed in the Horsemanship bracket as part of the individual championship, does not begin her quest for the singles title until Saturday. She is scheduled to compete in both Horsemanship and Reining as part of the team competition as long as TCU advances beginning Thursday evening. The last time these two teams met on March 8, TCU defeated the Bears 6-2 in Western. You can follow all the live action at gofrogs.com.
