March 30, 2007

MANSFIELD, Texas-After a three week hiatus, TCU will return to action on Saturday at 10 a.m. against South Carolina.

The game against the Gamecocks, is a preview of first round action in the Western portion of the Varsity Equestrian National Championship. The Frogs received the No. 10 seed in the tournament while South Carolina received the No. 10 seed.

South Carolina presents another chance for TCU to knock off a defending champion as South Carolina won the Hunt Seat Championship in the National tournament last year. The last time TCU faced a defending national champion was on March 1, as the Lady Frogs knocked off last year's overall champion Auburn.

Individually TCU will feature the six riders on Saturday that will face the Gamecocks in 18 days. Riding in the Western events for TCU will be team captain Carrie von Uhlit, Kindel Huffman, Chloe Baker, Allie Royder, Nicole Barnes and Jessica Bailey. The Western format for Saturday, will set up a little differently than usual as five riders will be used for each event with the lowest score being dropped.

On the English side the Lady Frogs will finish up their season with Caitlin Sewell, Erin Sciacca, Jennifer Currie, J.J. Whichard, Emma Carl and Kathleen Rhode. The Hunt Seat ladies know that in order to have success against South Carolina, execution will be key.

Due to the inclement weather, all events will be held under the covered arena at Fieldstone Park. All action can be followed on gofrogs.com
