TCU wraps up day one at the Baylor Fall Tournament

WACO, Texas-TCU completed the first day of action in the Baylor Fall Tournament Friday, at the Willis Family Equestrian Center. In game one, the Frogs fell to Baylor 8-4, in the first of three games to be played over the duration of the tournament. The Frogs scored all four points from their Western team, improving the Western team's record to a perfect 5-0. Kindel Huffman and Carrie von Uhlit each earned MVP honors. Huffman scored a 75 in Horsemanship, while Von Uhlit score a 75 in reining. Between the two riders, they have now totaled eight MVPs on the season. Making her TCU debut was freshman Ashton Mickunas, as she competed in the reining event. Mickunas was the 12th newcomer to compete for the Frogs this season. So far the new Frogs have combined to earn 12 of the team's 35 points on the season. Jennifer Neel added to the total as she scored a 72 in the Reining event to knock off Baylor's Valtie Riddle. Following the first game, TCU started competition with Delaware State, the first-ever meeting between the two. The two teams only completed the Horsemanship and Equitation on the Flat events, with Reining and Equitation over Fences to culminate tomorrow morning. TCU swept Delaware State 3-0 in Horsemanship, as freshman Morgan Alexander took home MVP honors with a score of 75. The Hornets battled back to defeat the Frogs 2-1 in Equitation on the Flat, to make the overall score 4-2 heading into Saturday's action. The Frogs are scheduled to take on Stephen F. Austin in game three Saturday, immediately following the completion of game two. All action can be followed on gofrogs.com.
