SIGNING DAY VIDEO

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU women's basketball head coach Jeff Mittie announced Wednesday the signing of three student-athletes to early national letters of intent to play for the 2012-13 season.

The trio is comprised of two Texas natives and one from Illinois. Overall, the TCU class is a consensus Top 50 class nationally, while two of the three future Frogs rank in the top 50 amongst all high school players for their respective positions according to ESPN/HoopGurlz.

"We were able to get three quality players in this recruiting class," said Mittie. "We wanted to improve our guards and our shooting ability with this class and I think we were able to do that. Overall, I am very pleased with this class. We feel like these three will really fit well within our program and university."

Inking with the Frogs on Wednesday were shooting guard Kamy Cole (5-9, SG, Brock, Texas (Brock High School)), combo guard Veja Hamilton (5-10, SG/F, Spring, Texas (Klein Collins High School)) and point guard Zahna Medley (5-6, PG, Springfield, Ill. (Springfield High School)).

She also ranks as the No. 14 rated player in the state of Texas according to Premier Basketball Report. Cole, who is currently No. 42 among all guards in the nation according to the Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Report, is a three-time all-state and all-region selection. She heads into her senior campaign following a junior year in which she led the Lady Eagles to their third-straight 2A state championship, while also garnering district and state tournament MVP accolades. Cole, who sits as the No. 159 rated player nationally according to Mike White All-Star Girls Report, has also excelled on the track at Brock High School as she was the Class 2A district and regional champion in the 1,600 meters. She averaged 20.4 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game a year ago, which helped her garner All-Parker County Co-MVP accolades.

"We got a very athletic player in Kamy Cole," said Mittie. "She can shoot the deep three and will play all over the floor for us."

Hamilton, who is ranked as high as the No. 18 overall rated wing in the country according to ESPN/HoopGurlz, is a four-star rated combo guard out of Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas. She currently sits as the 73rd best player in the country and the No. 16 ranked small forward nationally according to Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Report. Hamilton has also excelled in the classroom the past couple of years, earning all-academic team selection three-straight years, while also graduating two years ahead of her class.

"Veja is a player that can play all over the floor and is a great shooter," said Mittie. "She has one of the best pull-up jumpers we saw all summer."
