GAME PREVIEW
The TCU women's basketball team will play their first game of the season in front of a nationally-televised audience as the Lady Frogs take on the University of Florida Gators at 8:06 p.m. (CT) at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The game will be shown on The mtn. network with Bill Doleman and Andrea Lloyd Curry calling the action. The Lady Frogs will be seeking their fifth-straight victory on Friday evening. In its last four games, TCU has defeated its opponents by a margin of 13.8 points. Where TCU lacks in height, it makes up in speed and defense is the key for the Frogs. The Purple and White ranks first in the Mountain West Conference in steals and five players are ranked among the Top 15 individually in steals per game. TCU outscores its opponents largely in the paint, but don't be confused - 90 percent of those shots are fast-break lay-ups. The Lady Frogs are balanced in scoring as three players are averaging double figures. Senior guard/forward Ashley Davis is the long-range shooter and leads the way with 15.9 ppg and 3.9 rbg. The Frogs' main go-to player, Adrianne Ross (15.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg), is a solid shooter and a scrappy defender. She paces the team in field goals, assists, steals and has the lowest assist/turnover ratio on the squad. Junior forward Lorie Butler-Rayford is one of the top all-around players in the league. She has three double-doubles on the year and is averaging 10.1 points and an impressive 8.9 rebounds per game. TCU is shooting 40.6 percent from the field.
