TCU'S LAST TIME OUT
A 5-for-32 (.156) shooting effort in the first half was too much for the TCU Lady Frogs to overcome Sunday in Coral Gables, Fla. The Lady Frogs were defeated by the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes, 68-57, in the championship game of the Miami Jam. Senior Sandora Irvin and sophomore Ashley Davis were named to the All-Tournament Team for their performances over the weekend. Irvin concluded the game with a double-double coming on 17 points and 17 rebounds. Davis chipped in with 11, three of which came on threes. Sophomore Adrianne Ross was the Lady Frogs' other double digit scorer with 10. Senior Niki Newton gave a strong performance in her second start of the year with nine points and seven rebounds. TCU finished the game shooting 27.1 percent from the field (19-70). Miami made nearly 50 percent of its shots, going 28-for-58. The Lady Frogs made 11-of-21 threes against UCLA Friday, but only managed to go 6-for-26 (.231) Sunday. TCU collected 50 rebounds, 12 more than Miami, and held a huge 26-8 upper hand on the offensive glass. Second change points were 24-8 in favor of the Lady Frogs. Neither squad was careful with the ball, as they combined for 45 turnovers (TCU 23).
