FORT WORTH - The Preseason WNIT announced Tuesday evening that the TCU women's basketball team will host Delaware in the final round of the tournament's consolation bracket Friday in Fort Worth. Tip-off for the game has been set for 6:30 p.m. at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Single-game tickets for the matchup may be purchased for $8 (adults) and $5 (students) from the TCU Athletics Ticket Office by calling (817) 257-FROG or on the Internet at www.GoFrogs.com. Lady Frog season-ticket holders should use the ticket marked WNIT Game A for admission into Friday's game. Each of the first 100 TCU students to attend will be admitted for free courtesy of the TCU athletics department.
Delaware defeated Delaware State in the first round of the WNIT on Nov. 9, but dropped into the consolation bracket following a 91-43 loss at No. 3-ranked Maryland earlier Tuesday evening. The Frogs have known that they would play in the consolation round since Sunday's 73-54 loss at No. 4 LSU. The game will be the final WNIT contest for both teams.
Delaware returns two starters from last year's squad that tied for second place in the Colonial Athletics Association. The Fightin' Blue Hens also reached the NCAA Tournament, where they dropped a 69-58 decision to No. 5 seed Michigan State in the first round of the Greensboro Regional. The squad was picked to finish fifth in the CAA during the preseason.
