BATON ROUGE, La.--Fresh off its first-round Preseason WNIT victory over Radford Friday, the TCU women's basketball team travels to Baton Rouge, La., to tangle with No. 5/5 LSU on Sunday. Game time for the matchup has been set for 2 p.m. at LSU's Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The game can be heard live on the radio in the Metroplex on 88.7 KTCU-FM with Jeff Williams (play-by-play) and Marcy Girton (analyst) calling the action. All games this season will be broadcast live on KTCU. Live audio coverage will also be offered on gofrogs.com.

TCU is searching for its first-ever win over the Tigers after four previous losses in the series. The two teams last squared off Dec. 21, 1997 in Fort Worth during the DMC Holiday Classic with LSU recording an 83-74 win over the Frogs.

The winner of Sunday's matchup will advance to the semifinal round of the Preseason WNIT against the Evansville-Michigan State winner. The site and date of the matchup will be determined shortly following Sunday's game, although it is certain that it will be held either Nov. 14 or 15. The TCU-LSU loser will drop to the consolation bracket, where it will play its final game of the tournament either Nov. 16 or 17.

Scouting No. 5/5 LSU
LSU reached the NCAA Final Four a year ago and posted a 30-8 overall record and 10-4 mark in the SEC to tie for third place. The Tigers defeated UNC Asheville, West Virginia, Florida State and No. 1 seed Connecticut on their way to a fourth straight Final Four after finishing as the runners-up in the SEC Tournament. The squad fell to Rutgers in the national semifinal round.

The Tigers, who return all five starters from last year's edition, were ranked fifth to begin the season in both the USA Today Coaches' and Associated Press polls. Most notable among the returnees is Kodak All-American Sylvia Fowles, who averaged 16.9 points, 12.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game a year ago at the center position. Senior guard Quianna Chaney also notched double-figures in scoring last season with 11.8 points per game to earn second-team All-SEC honors.

LSU opened its season with an easy 86-38 win at home over Samford in the first round of the WNIT. Chaney scored a career-high 25 points to pace the Tigers against the Bulldogs.

About the Preseason WNIT
The Preseason WNIT is an invitation-only tournament involving 16 teams in a three-game guarantee format. It will be played over a 10-day period from Nov. 9 through 18, with each game being hosted at the site of a participating school. Only one team per conference is allowed to play in the Preseason WNIT, and that team may only participate once every four years. Teams are selected for the tournament based on expected success for that season, relevant past, conference standings, fan base and geographical location, among other criteria.

Other teams among this year's field include: Delaware (Colonial Athletic Association), Delaware State (MEAC), East Tennessee State (Atlantic Sun), Evansville (Missouri Valley), IUPUI (Summit League), LSU (SEC), Marshall (Conference USA), Maryland (ACC), Miami (MAC), Michigan State (Big Ten), Notre Dame (Big East), Princeton (Ivy League), Samford (Ohio Valley) and Western Kentucky (Sun Belt).

Frogs in the Preseason WNIT
TCU will make its second appearance all-time in the Preseason WNIT, which was founded in 1994 with a single-elimination format. The Frogs currently own a 2-1 record all-time in the tournament.

Jeff Mittie opened his tenure as the Lady Frogs' head coach during the program's first showing in 1999-2000. That squad, which went on to tie the then-program record for wins as members of Division I, opened with a 62-51 victory over St. Mary's (Calif.) before dropping an 86-61 decision in the second round to UC-Santa Barbara, which finished as the event's runner-up.

TCU in Road Openers
TCU owns an all-time record of 8-22 in true road openers. Head Coach Jeff Mittie is 3-5 in road openers in his first eight years at TCU. The Lady Frogs have dropped each of their last three true road games to start a season, at Miami (2004), Oklahoma (2005) and Maryland (2006).
