McShane has spent the past two seasons on Mittie's staff. He spent his first year as the program's first-ever Director of Women's Basketball Operations, then assumed an on-court role with the Lady Frogs for his second season, working primarily with the post players.
"We appreciate the contribution Sean has made in his two years with TCU," said Mittie. "He's an excellent basketball coach who has made a positive impact on the program. We wish him the best and will begin the search for a new coach immediately. We hope to have the position filled by the end of the month."
"I've had a tremendous experience at TCU over the past two years," said McShane. "I'm thankful for the opportunity given to me by Coach Mittie and the staff. They really embraced me. I learned a lot and hope I made some contribution to the growth of the program."
Faulkner, a 6-foot-3 center, played in just six games for the Lady Frogs over the past two seasons after transferring from Iowa Western Community College. She sat out the 2002-03 campaign as a redshirt, then played in six games last season before being sidelined for the remainder of the year due to medical reasons.
Butler, a 5-foot-9 freshman guard from Garland, Texas (O.D. Wyatt High School), sat out the entire 2003-04 season as a redshirt.
