Lady Frogs Climb Back Into National Rankings
March 7, 2005 FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Lady Frogs (23-9, 10-4 C-USA) climbed back into the national rankings Monday after defeating Louisville 60-41 for the Conference USA Tournament championship the previous day. TCU came in at No. 25 in The Associated Press Top 25. In addition to Louisville, the Lady Frogs' defeated USF and upset then-No. 12/11 DePaul, which won the regular-season championship with a 13-1 league record. TCU was seeded fourth for the tournament and knocked off the Nos. 1, 2 and 5 seeds. Louisville was the second seed and USF No. 5. All three teams TCU defeated had posted at least 20 victories heading into the games. TCU was nationally ranked earlier in the 2004-05 season following its improbable victories at the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu in late November. After downing California in the first round, the Lady Frogs shocked then-No. 3 Georgia in the semis and beat then-No. 13/14 Michigan State for the title. TCU held steady at 23rd in the AP Poll for two weeks and was 22nd and 25th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll during the same stretch. The Associated Press Top 25 1. Stanford
