Sandora Irvin Snags C-USA Player of the Week Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas

Conference USA announced today that TCU junior forward Sandora Irvin has been named the league's Player of the Week. Irvin shared the distinction with Sancho Lyttle from Houston. The No. 17/19 Lady Frogs picked up a pair of victories against Marquette (56-47) and No. 12/11 DePaul (73-53) last weekend to push their conference record to 11-2. TCU has a shot at a share of the regular season conference championship with a win at Houston Friday. The game is slated to start at 7 p.m.

Irvin recorded a pair of double-doubles in the victories, her eighth and ninth in a row and 16th and 17th overall. Against the Golden Eagles, she tallied 11 points and 13 rebounds and came up two blocks short of the first triple-double in school history. Her also notched her 300th career block in the contest. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native followed up that performace with 19 points, 11 boards, six rejections and five steals in TCU's 20-point win over the Blue Demons.
