ABOUT THE GAME
A key Conference USA match-up with the Charlotte 49ers (20-5, 8-3) awaits the TCU Lady Frogs (17-8, 8-3) Friday in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum at 7 p.m. CST. If the Lady Frogs can win their last three C-USA games, which are all at home, against Charlotte, East Carolina and Houston, they would assure themselves a first-round bye in the conference tournament. TCU owns a 3-2 record versus Charlotte and has won the past three meetings. The Lady Frogs picked up two of them last season, beating the 49ers in Charlotte, N.C., 100-91 during the regular season and 89-73 in Fort Worth, Texas, when TCU hosted the C-USA Tournament.
TCU'S LAST TIME OUT
TCU dropped its second game in a row Sunday to the 15th-ranked DePaul Blue Demons in Chicago in overtime, 84-81. Sandora Irvin finished with 25 points and 18 rebounds to go along with four blocks and five steals. Niki Newton tallied 15 points. Ashley Davis finished with 13 points and Natasha Lacy and Lorie Butler-Rayford each tossed in a dozen.
CHARLOTTE'S LAST TIME OUT
Charlotte picked up a 72-63 victory over Cincinnati Sunday after falling in overtime to Louisville, 63-60, two days prior. Sakellie Daniels put up some big numbers for the 49ers with 28 points and six rebounds. Pam Brown and Monica League also reached double figures in scoring for Charlotte with 11 and 10 points, respectively. The 49ers got 31 trips to the free-throw line and coverted 22 of them, while UC made all four of its tries.
