JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Rudy Sims scored 14 points and had a key steal in the final two minutes Sunday to lift Arkansas State to a 68-64 victory over No. 23 TCU.

Sandora Irvin led Texas Christian (6-2) with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Ashley Davis scored 16 and Natasha Lacy added 12.

Ali Carter paced the Lady Indians (3-3) with 19 points, while Zaneta Lane added 11 and Adrianne Davie grabbed 12 rebounds.

Sims hit a 3-pointer with 1:53 left to give Arkansas State a 62-60 lead. She followed with a short jumper for a 64-62 advantage with 1:13 left.

Sims then stole the ball, and after a missed layup, Davie converted a three-point play to give Arkansas State a 67-62 lead.

"I needed to start hitting some shots," Sims said. "I wanted to make that last layup."

TCU got back to within three points, but Davie added a free throw with 9 seconds left to give coach Brian Boyer a victory over his former mentor, Jeff Mittie.

Mittie was Arkansas State's coach from 1995-99 before leaving for TCU.

"It was a blast," Boyer said. "But it is like Jeff said, it is a tough ballgame before and a tough game afterwards, but during the game it is just a game. It was a fun game. Both teams made some great plays."

Arkansas State led 31-26 at intermission, but TCU opened the second half with a 9-3 run and took the lead at 35-34 with 17:17 left.

The Lady Frogs kept the lead until Sims' 3-pointer in the final minutes.

TCU never led in the first half, but did manage to tie it at 20. The Lady Indians followed that with a 9-0 run on two 3-pointers by Carter and another by Amber Abraham.
