The TCU Lady Frogs wrapped up their exhibition season Monday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum with a 74-59 victory over Everyones Internet. The Purple and White opens the regular season Friday, Nov. 21, with a home contest against Texas State at 7 p.m.

With the score teetering back and forth early in the first half, the Lady Frogs managed to build a seven-point advantage, 19-12, after senior guard Kim Ortega drove the lane and dished to classmate Tracy Wynn for a wide open jumper on the baseline. EVI continued to hang around, but TCU freshman guard/forward Ashley Davis put the Purple and White back up by seven, 31-24, with her second three pointer of the half at the 6:44 mark.

The Lady Frogs looked to run away with the ballgame when they snagged a 39-30 lead after a Stephanie Faulkner layup. TCU's advantage stayed at nine, 41-32, after Faulkner recorded another easy bucket in the paint, but EVI turned its game up a notch in the final two minutes of the stanza. Stacey Smalls penciled in the halftime score with Everyones Internet only trailing by two, 41-39, after she connected on a trey from the top of the key with one second remaining.

Both teams came out sluggish in the second period, as neither managed to score during the first 3:57 until TCU rookie guard Natasha Lacy drained the first of her two charity tosses. The first field goal for either squad came with 14:02 remaining in the game when Wynn used a pinch of shooter's touch to can a jumper from 16 feet away, giving the Lady Frogs a 45-39 lead.

TCU finally took its first double digit lead of the contest with the clock showing 8:40 when Faulkner nailed the first of her two free throws to set the score at 56-46. The closest EVI could pull within was nine after that point. With just under a minute to play, senior forward Tiffany Evans tallied a layup to give the Lady Frogs their largest lead, 74-56. EVI's Tiffany Andrews connected on a three in the final 30 seconds to set the final score at 74-59.

"I think we need to score better as a team," said TCU Head Coach Jeff Mittie following the win. "Individually, we looked good at times, but we tried to make plays that weren't there and were careless with the ball. We're a young team and still learning, but we know we can't get away with that in the future."

The Lady Frogs committed 29 turnovers on the night compared to EVI's 19. The difference in the game, however, was rebounding and field goal percentage, where TCU owned a 54-31 edge on the boards and out-shot the opposition 45.6 to 31.3 percent.

Wynn led TCU in scoring with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field. She also hauled down six rebounds in 25 minutes on the floor. Davis snared a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, four of which came on the offensive end. She also hit three of her five attempts from downtown. Faulkner also turned in a solid performance with eight points and four grabs off the glass.

"Tracy and Stephanie both had big games inside the paint for us," Mittie added.

Alicia Thompson of Everyones Internet led all scorers with 22 points, going 9-for-19 from the floor. She also pocketed seven rebounds. Andrews was EVI's other double digit scorer with 11 points.
