POST-GAME QUOTES
TCU-Colorado State
Jan. 19, 2008
Fort Worth, Texas--Daniel-Meyer Coliseum

TCU Head Coach Jeff Mittie
Opening Statement
"I thought we did some good things today. I don't think we were as sharp as we would have liked. There were 18 assists on our 26 field goals. The area that I didn't like was that I thought we could have had some more opportunities to finish things, and our timing was a little off. But those are areas that were are getting better at. They are areas that I was wanting to see different people in. Micah (Garoutte) got an extended number of minutes and Jenna (Lohse) got a good rotation in the first half. We are still searching for consistency in that inside, but I liked a lot of what I saw today."

On TCU's coming together in the game
"I thought Colorado State did some different things. They played triangle and two (defense). They played a lot of zone. They shaded Adrianne's (Ross) side a lot and put a lot of help on her. Adrianne ended up with five assist. I know that she would have liked to shoot it better because she still had eleven attempts. I still think they were eleven pretty decent looks. If she knocks those shots down she still has a big night against that style of defense. I think that the team understands that if a team does something like that against us, then there is going to be a lot of opportunities and looks for other players on our team. We certainly aren't reliant on one player."

On the play of Helena Sverrisdottir
"We talked to the team about how we were going to have a number of opportunities. Helena's movement into the areas that were vacated and the timing of those were very good. She ended up with 15 shots. I think the ball moved to her a lot and she moved into areas she needed to be."

Freshman guard Helena Sverrisdottir
On the team's slow start to the game
"We knew that we could play better than we were the fist couple of minutes. We play better when we are playing as a team. We came together at that point and that's when we took the lead."

On the ability of any TCU player to lead the team on any night
"It's not up to one player to score, we all can do it. Tonight I was open. Next time Adrianne (Ross) might have a lot of points. Anyone can lead us on any given night."

On having her father in attendance
"When I play, I focus on the court. But of course its nice to have him (father) in the stands."
