2013-14 Season Preview
Veja Hamilton is one of the youngest players in the entire nation, having started TCU in 2012-13 at the age of 16. The Spring product could make some real noise during the 2013-14 season after starting 23 games for the Frogs this past season. She has an excellent mid-range jumper and is able to handle the ball with ease. Hamilton gives TCU plenty of advantage in matchup's because she is able to play both the forward and guard position. She could challenge for all-conference honors during 2013-14.
2012-13 (FRESHMAN)
Hamilton played in all 30 games for TCU in her first year on campus, starting 23 games ... She finished second on the team in rebounding for the year, averaging 5.1 per contest ... In all, Hamilton averaged 5.6 points per game during league play and closed out the season, scoring 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting against Kansas at the Big 12 Tournament in Dallas ... Hamilton scored a career-high 15 points at West Virginia and posted her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds at Kansas to close the year ... She entered double-figures for the first time with 10 points in win over Houston ... Following the conclusion of the season, she has six career games scoring in double figures, including two games with 10 points against Oklahoma, while also claiming three double-digit rebounding efforts ... Hamilton was able to grab a career-best 10 rebounds at Texas A&M ... She earned her first career start versus SMU, posting a stat line of eight points, six rebounds and four assists.
Klein Collins High School
Hamilton, a 5-10 shooting guard/forward, put the finishing touches on her playing career at Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas, as she wrapped up play scoring 28 of her teams 60 points in an overtime loss to Pflugerville ... For the year, Hamilton, who totaled 2,228 points for her career and was a McDonald's All-American nominee, averaged 20.9 points per game, while shooting 49.5 percent from the field. The senior also chipped in with 5.1 boards, 3.0 steals and 2.6 assists ... Hamilton, who was ranked as high as the No. 18 overall rated wing in the country according to ESPN/HoopGurlz, is a four-star rated combo guard and was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state list in March. During the course of her senior seasons, she was the 73rd best player in the country and the No. 16 ranked small forward nationally according to Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Report.
