Helena Sverrisdottir, one of only two Lady Frogs to start each game in 2008-09, took over TCU's point guard position during her sophomore season... became only the seventh Lady Frog to earn first-team all-conference honors... paced the team in scoring, rebounds and assists, joining former Frog Natasha Lacy as the only player to lead TCU in each category in the same season... was the only player ranked among the Mountain West Conference's top-7 players in scoring (No. 4), rebounds (No. 6), assists (No. 2) and steals (No. 7)... ranked 44th nationally in assists per game... placed her name in several of the program's single-season top-10 statistical charts, including: free throws made (No. 2), assists (No. 3), points (No. 6), free throw percentage (No. 8) and rebounds (No. 9). recorded a team-best nine double-doubles... reached double figures in all but five games, with seven 20-point efforts... led TCU in assists 23 games, 16 times in rebounds and 15 times in assists... posted two of the Mountain West Conference's five 10-assist games during the season... was listed among the 10 "Toughest Omissions" in Graham Hayes' (ESPN.com) list of the Top 15 players in women's college basketball on Feb. 26... scored 18 points with seven assists to help fuel TCU's season-opening upset of No. 3/5 Maryland on Nov. 14... nearly recorded only TCU's second triple-double ever against UTSA (Nov. 16) with 19 points, 10 rebounds and a career-best eight assists... went to the free-throw line a career-high 12 times in the game, sinking nine, which also marked a personal best... recorded career bests for 3-pointers and minutes vs. Eastern Michigan in the Cancun Challenge... had 20 points, eight boards and six assists at Fresno State (Dec. 4)... had two double-doubles during TCU's championship run at the Colliers International Classic where she was named tournament MVP... after going for 20 points and 11 boards vs. Saint Louis (Dec. 6), helped lead TCU to its first-ever road upset of a top-5 team with 17 points and a career-best 10 assists at No. 3 Cal (Dec. 7)... the assist total marked TCU's most since former Frog Natasha Lacy had 11 vs. Depaul on Feb. 13, 2005... named MWC Co-Player of the Week, her third career weekly league honor, on Dec. 8 following the performances vs. Fresno State, Saint Louis and Cal... pulled down a career-best 13 boards while adding 22 points vs. SMU (Dec. 30)... also tied a career best with three blocked shots against the Mustangs... went 10-of-11 from the charity stripe while scoring 21 points with eight boards during the Jan. 21 road win at Wyoming... scored TCU's final six points with a perfect effort at the free-throw line to help hold off the Cowgirls... scored a career-high 25 points with eight boards while going 10-for-10 at the free throw line during a Jan. 25 loss at New Mexico... scored a career-high 27 points with nine boards and four assists at Utah (Feb. 4)... tied a career best for the second straight game with a trio of 3-pointers vs. Colorado State (Feb. 7)... totaled 16 points, 10 assists, five boards and a career-high five steals Feb. 10 vs. UNLV... recorded her 200th career assist against the Rebels... went for 18-8-6 during the Feb. 18 road win at Air Force, while adding her seventh double-double Feb. 28 at San Diego State with 19 points and 12 boards... named MWC Co-Player of the Week for the third time on March 9 following a double-double in the Frogs' regular-season finale featuring 20 points and 10 boards... fell only two assists shy of a triple double during a March 11 loss to UNLV in the second round of the MWC Tournament with 16 points, 13 boards and eight assists... led the Frogs in scoring (12 points), rebounds (eight) and assists (four) during TCU's NCAA Tournament first-round loss to South Dakota State (March 22).

Sverrisdottir was named Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year following the conclusion of the regular season... started 33 of 35 games as a true freshman... finished the season as TCU's highest-scoring freshman since Sandora Irvin (10.8) in 2001-02... ranked second on the team in rebounds and third in scoring and assists... led the Frogs in scoring eight times, nine times in rebounds and 10 games in assists... the lone freshman to appear among the Mountain West Conference's top-30 rankings for scoring (21st), rebounds (12th) and assists (14th)... became the fourth true freshman to start a season opener under Head Coach Jeff Mittie against Radford (Nov. 9), joining sophomore teammate Shayla Moore (2006 vs. Maryland) and former Frogs Natasha Lacy (2003) and Sandora Irvin (2001)... led TCU against Colorado State (Jan. 19) with then-career highs of 20 points and eight rebounds... recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and a then-career-high 11 rebounds during the Feb. 5 win over BYU... followed up by leading the Frogs in scoring (14 pts), rebounds (eight) and assists (four) against SDSU on Feb. 9... named Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Week for her efforts against the Cougars and Aztecs... pulled down a personal-best 12 rebounds while adding nine points and four assists during TCU's home win over No. 22/22 Wyoming (Feb. 13)... led TCU to a home overtime win over New Mexico (Feb. 17) with a career-high 24 points and nine rebounds... shot 10-of-15 from the field against the Lobos, while scoring 19 points after halftime... earned Mountain West Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week for her play against the Cowgirls and Lobos... shot 5-of-7 from the field while leading TCU with 15 points and six boards during a March 1 home win over UNLV... collected a career-best three blocks during the March 5 home finale victory over Air Force... tied for the team lead with 12 points during TCU's MWC tourney semifinal loss to San Diego State (March 14)... went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line while totaling 16 points against Texas Tech (March 24) in the WNIT Third Round... pulled down 10 boards in the season-ending loss to Colorado in the WNIT quarterfinal round, her fifth contest with double-figure rebounds.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Sverrisdottir led the Icelandic national team to a third-place finish in Division B of the qualifying round for Eurobasket Women 2007... paced all players in Group B with 19.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game... recorded at least 20 points and 10 boards in three of six games, including highs of 33 points against Ireland and 15 boards versus Norway... shot 50.8 percent from the field for the tournament... earned Most Valuable Player honors each of her last three seasons with Haukar of the Icelandic Express League... led Haukar to consecutive league championships in 2006 and 2007... averaged 21.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game during her final season.
