2007-08 OUTLOOK (SOPHOMORE): Lauren Roberts will see her first game action for TCU this season after sitting out her first year on campus after transferring from Northwestern... the 6-3 left-hander should see her share of minutes, as she is one of only two true centers on the team... ranks as the tallest player on this year's squad, along with teammate Micaela Younger... "Lauren gives us another much-needed body inside," said Head Coach Jeff Mittie. "She can shoot the 15 footer and can also work inside. I think our post players keep improving, and Lauren is one of them that works extremely hard."
2006-07 (TRANSFER): Roberts sat out the entire season due to NCAA transfer rules.
2005-06 (FRESHMAN / AT NORTHWESTERN): Roberts played in 21 games as a rookie for Northwestern in the Big Ten Conference... averaged 1.9 points, 1.2 rebounds and 7.6 minutes per game... shot 36.8 percent from the field and completed 84.6 percent of her free throws... registered six blocks on the year... totaled a career-high 10 points at Iowa on Jan. 15, when she shot 4-for-8 from the field... pulled in a career-high four rebounds at Wisconsin on Feb. 5.
HIGH SCHOOL: Roberts was a four-year varsity player at Xavier College Prep in Phoenix... leading scorer and rebounder as a senior at Xavier... team captain as a junior and senior... coached by former Nebraska coach Angela Beck and retired WNBA standout Jennifer Gillom... AAU team was Arizona Elite... member of the all-region and all-state teams while at Xavier.
PERSONAL: Born Lauren Christina Roberts on Oct. 21, 1986... daughter of Theresa Roberts and Ken Sundlof... father is a lawyer and mother works in promotional advertising... has an older sister, Tiffany, and a younger brother, Kenny... sister Tiffany played soccer at Santa Clara University... majoring in interior design at TCU with a minor in business... earned first honors (academics) at Xavier... plays the guitar and piano... would like to earn her doctorate degree and then join the Peace Corps.
