2012-13 Outlook
Delisa Gross has been a three-year starter for the Horned Frogs and should be a key component to the Frogs success next season. A solid rebounder and scorer, the Waco product could be a major force for the Frogs in the Big 12 as her knack for making timely buckets in the middle of games will be huge.
2011-12 (JUNIOR)
Gross once again was a key component in the Horned Frog attack during the 2011-12 season ... She played in all 30 games, while making 18 starts ... Gross opened the year, totaling 29 minutes against Georgia, scoring seven points ... She came back to record eight points in TCU's home opener against UTSA ... Also tallied five boards against the Roadrunners ... Scored a then season-high 13 points against NC State ... Tallied 11 points against Lamar on 4-of-6 shooting ... Tied her career-high with two steals in win over Sam Houston State ... Scored a season-best 18 points in the win at Boise State ... Matched a season-best with six boards against New Mexico ... Had six points and five rebounds against Wyoming to close the year.
2010-11 (SOPHOMORE)
Gross had a solid sophomore campaign, scoring in double-figures in 10 games this season ... Closed out her season, scoring 13 points, while grabbing a career high 13 boards against Oral Roberts ... Scored a new career-high of 20 points against San Diego State ... When Gross scored in double-figures during the season, the Frogs were 6-2 overall during the regular-season ... She led TCU in rebounds during three games this season, while ranking third overall on TCU with an average of 4.2 boards a contest ... Was also fourth on the team in scoring with 7.6 points per game, while leading the Frogs in field goal percentage with an average of .451 ... Delisa Gross provided TCU with a solid option off the bench in her first season on campus, appearing in all 31 games with seven starts ... led TCU in field-goal shooting with an overall rate of 44.0 percent ... was seventh in 3-point shooting (37.1 percent) ... ranked second on the team in blocked shots (0.7), tied for fifth in rebounding (3.0 rpg) and sixth in scoring (5.7 ppg) ... reached double figures in scoring five times ... a joined teammate Starr Crawford in becoming the first pair of true freshmen to start a season opener in Jeff Mittie's tenure as head coach Nov. 15 vs. Houston Baptist ... became only the second freshman in the Mittie era to open her career by scoring in double figures in consecutive games with 13 points vs. Houston Baptist (Nov. 15) and 14 points vs. Fresno State (Nov. 18) ... made seven starts in the opening eight games ... led TCU in scoring for the first time in her career with 17 points Feb. 6 vs. Air Force, tying Helena Sverrisdottir for the team lead ... pulled down a career-high eight rebounds Jan. 9 vs. Utah ... her four blocks vs. San Diego State (Jan. 16) tied Crawford for the team's individual high performance.
HIGH SCHOOL
Gross was a four-year letterwinner for Waco Midway High School... the Pantherettes were rated as the nation's 2008-09 preseason No. 25 prep team... averaged 14.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 blocks and 2.1 steals per game as a senior... helped Midway earn its seventh Texas state championship in 2009 by upsetting top-ranked Mansfield Timberview in the 4A final ... scored eight points and helped the Pantherettes force 26 turnovers while holding the Wolves to only 17.5 percent shooting from the floor... vaulted the team into the state finals with a tournament-record eight 3-pointers against Dallas Lincoln in the semifinal round... also set the tournament record for 3-pointers with 11... was an all-state honoree by both the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) as a senior and junior... also lauded for her work in the classroom with an academic all-state award... averaged 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as a junior... rated as the nation's No. 81 high school senior by All-Star Girls Report prior to her final season... coached at Waco Midway by Teri Morrison.
