2013-14 Season Preview
Caitlin Diaz showed promise during her first year on campus and will look to become more of a factor during the 2013-14 season. A tough and physical post-player, Diaz showed glimpses of being a solid role player for the Frogs this season.
2012-13 (FRESHMAN)
Diaz played in 17 games during the 2012-13 campaign, which included action in eight conference games ... She made her first contributions at a Horned Frog against UCF, socring three points and grabbing four rebounds ... Diaz saw her first collegiate action during the final stages of the TCU season-opener against Charlotte ... Grabbed three rebounds and first career steal at Texas A&M in December ... Had a breakout game at Iowa State later in the year, posting career-highs in points, field goals, free throw attempts and minutes.
Tomball High School
Diaz, a four-time first team all-district honoree and three-star rated recruit, will don the Purple and White after completing a successful senior campaign at Tomball High School in Houston ... The McDonald's All-America nominee was ranked as the 34th-best forward according to ESPN/HoopGurlz ... She was also rated as the No. 18 ranked player in the state of Texas according to Premier Basketball Report ... The 6-foot-1 forward, who was recently named to the All-Greater Houston all-star squad, averaged 19.6 points per game during her senior season, while averaging 10.0 boards a contest ... Diaz, who earned multiple academic all-state honors, also excelled on the volleyball court during her high school career as she was a three-time first team all-district selection as well as an all-state TAPPS 4A honoree in 2011.
