TCU Athletes of the Week Selected Tuesday

Ali Bleasdell’s performance helped inch the Horned Frogs past Rice to claim the two- day Rice Invitational. She took command right out of the gate by winning the 200 IM, along with a strong second victory in the 200 butterfly, finishing nearly two seconds ahead of the field at 2:04:44. Bleasdell made another key contribution by placing second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:34:01. The sophomore was also a member of the second-place 400 medley relay squad.
Nick Chappell’s individual efforts advanced him to the semifinals session in last weeks USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Chappell went 4-1 at the event and was one of the last four standing of the state’s best players, currently ranked 77th overall. TCU also made an impact in doubles play as Chappell and Orlando Superiano advanced to the finals of the consolation bracket.
TCU swimming returns to action Nov. 2, at 6 p.m., in Lawrence, Kan. in a double-dual meet against Kansas and North Dakota. Horned Frog Men’s Tennis will return to competition Nov. 2-4 at the UT Invitational.
