Brink and Biro take two wins in opening day of Wilson/ITA Regional Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - Chris Biro and Kriegler Brink both earned two wins in the opening day of the South Central Regional, hosted by TCU. The wins place both Frogs into the round of 32, where they will play at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Chris Biro, a transfer from Arizona State, defeated Kody Duplechin of Lamar 6-0, 6-1, and Chris Hooshyar of SMU 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the round of 32. Biro will face off against the No. 1 singles seed of the tournament, Lars Poerschke of Baylor. Brink defeated Shaun Ellison of Louisiana-Lafayette (6-2, 6-2) and Jon Greenberg of Rice (6-2, 6-3) to advance.

Andrew Ulrich, Radu Barbu and Cosmin Cotet all earned first round victories before falling in the round of 64.

In doubles action, the duo of Radu Barbu and Cosmin Cotet advanced to the round of 16 after receiving a first round bye and defeating Macjek Bogusz and Filip Kanszcula of Lamar 8-3 in the round of 32. Barbu and Cotet will face Texas A&M's doubles team at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The duos of Brink and Row and Biro and Ulrich fell in the round of 32 after advancing from first round byes.
